Strunz y Farah
Jorge Strunz of Costa Rica and Ardeshir Farah of Iran, two virtuoso lovers of the guitar combine to make one of the most world-renowned and respected duets throughout the world. Together they have had a long artistic career producing 16 records. We highly recommend Primal Magic (1990) and Americas (1992), which won a Billboard award for record of the year and a nomination for the Grammy, respectively.Difficult to categorize, some claim their music is Ethno-Jazz for its exquisite mixture of afro-Caribbean rhythms, Latin and Middle East folklore, all combined with a classical technique and intensity common to jazz and flamenco.Strunz and Farah are in the same category as such celebrated musicians as Paco de Lucia, John McLaughlin and Al Dimeola with whom they share friendship and work. The virtuosity demonstrated in each of their records is a delicacy as much for demanding ears as for any lover of good music.
