Guaitil
Earth, Water & Color
For centuries clay has been amassed and transformed into beautiful ceramic pieces, thus keeping alive the ancestral techniques of the indigenous Chorotega people, who once predominated in this area of Costa Rica.
When visiting Guaitil you can observe the entire process of the creation of these pieces, from the preparation of the clay and the tints to the painting of the finished product. The elaboration of each piece is the result of team work in which all family members take part. They will demonstrate each step and proudly answer your queries.
